My name is Tom Meyer and I’d like to welcome you to the Mill Creek Valley Taxidermy website. I am an avid outdoorsman and have been hunting and fishing my entire life. My love for the outdoors and game is what drew me to learning taxidermy over 18 years ago. I’ve been doing it in one form or another in the Cincinnati area ever since.
Mill Creek Valley Taxidermy is different than most shops in the tri-state area. I don’t take in fish, most small game or novelty items so that I can focus more on where my talent truly lies which is antlered and horned game, as well as birds. My work in these specialized areas enables me to produce a better quality product than what you’ll find in most of the other local shops.
At Mill Creek Valley Taxidermy, all capes and hides are sent out to be professionally tanned (wet, dry) by a very reputable tannery that has been in business for nearly 40 years. By sending them out, I avoid the issues of major hair loss, cracking and shrinkage that is a result of cutting corners to maximize profit. It is my belief that a professional tan adds to the life of your mount verses using borax, pickling agents and cheap brush on “tans” that honestly just can’t compare to the quality of a professionally tanned cape or hide.
My shop has a large walk in cooler that can be used by customers, when needed. Additionally, I have a local processor lined up to help customers with their processing needs.
